someone englighten me on the 80/20 rule
Also know as "the pareto principle" -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareto_principle
He was an economist who noticed that for many systems, 80% of the output was due to just 20% of the inputs (or causes). A quick example is, if you're a business owner, he predicts that 80% of your profit will come from just 20% of your customers. He predicts that you'll have a few big whales that buy a lot, and then a lot of smaller customers making up the rest.
It's not a law of nature or anything. It's not like gravity. It's just a principle that keeps showing up in the real world.
I think that social psychologist
Roy Baumeister was the first to claim that the pareto principle might also apply to human sexual relationships. It was around the time that genetic studies showed that the common ancestor of our Y chromosome was much more recent than the common ancestor of our mitochondria (meaning, fewer men than women have left offspring). But I think that he explained it as men being killed in hunting, war, etc. before they could reproduce.
More recently, every time we are able to get data from dating websites (which is rare - they guard their data because if men knew the truth about how the odds are against them, they wouldn't use those sites) it turns out that around 80% of the likes or messages or whatever metric you look at, go to 20% of the men.
And this aligns with other black-pill truths about human sexuality, like hypergamy (the tendency of women to want only the very top males)
So anyway, when people here mention the 80/20 rule, they are referring to one or more of the following: (1) the belief that 80% of sex is had by 20% of men. Or (2) the belief that 80% of women are competing for 20% of men
