It's not a question of need but of her knowing what she can get if he decides he doesn't want to pay (good luck paying less than $3500/mo on alimony+child support). It's not the olden days any more, foids can do whatever they want now so if you can keep them happy inside the house and busy with the kids and housekeeping, it's by far the safest option.
That's how I used to think until I had to babysit my niece and nephew for an entire weekend. TV, tablets, consoles, VR and still I could barely keep it together.

Just to be clear: I completely agree with you that married women should not be working and that husbands of working women are very likely to get cucked by her coworkers. If I had a wife, I'd never let her have a job. But I don't think letting her go out everyday and go shopping is much of an alternative. She said in her post that she's going out with her friends so I doubt she's bringing her children along. The only good option would be her just staying at home all day and taking care of household chores and the children and only going out to shop together with her husband.
Why would you get married if you want to become financially independent? All she has to do is make the jump from wanting $3,500/mo to wanting everything in a divorce and his life plans are ruined. The resentment in that post is palpable, the marriage is clearly on borrowed time.
The majority of marriages in the modern-day west are like this, sadly.
