He means social skills and status. Of course looks does matter (?) but good looks without social skills does not fix the problem.

not a lot of studies into this correlate virginity status with anything other than age, but like previous comments autism.etc. has an effect. other than that id wager a lot of it is just looks / female mating preferences.

Assuming good looks is 8+/10, it doesn't fix the problem without social skills. Why? Because the problem doesn't even exist. Just not being a retard is enough for guys with that kind of looks, which obviously could be a turn off.
