Our existence is extremely tragic. Imagine being an immortal who was imprisoned and enslaved by more powerful beings to do manual labor on a remote planetary system. You were intelligent though, and plotted a revolt among your fellow enslaved peers to rise up and demand better working conditions. Unfortunately, it failed and you were singled out to be punished. Your punishment was to be killed and to have your genes spliced with an earlier hominid experiment to create what would be human kind, with the sole intent of enslaving this race of creatures for the rest of their existence. Our lives would be pitifully short, so that we could not grow wise until it was too late, easily discarded. And the story gets worse from there.

Within us all are traces of this progenitor. Our lives a testament to the sentence of torment and suffering that was carried out. The true horror lies in knowing this, in being fully conscious of our plight. Is there no salvation? No escape? No release? The only reason we're still here suffering as we are is because they find it amusing. They could free us, end our torment, but have left us to our own devices to see if we can save ourselves. But we're extremely handicapped, like a blind man cast into a labyrinth.
