A lot of men objectively have unrealistic standards, and this is made worse by the movie industry and porn. The human sex drive is programmed to generate attraction to the hottest individuals, and it must sometimes be disciplined. A big part of social life in olden times was to force yourself to marry a homely, but hardworking woman who would have lots of babies and be able to take care of the house instead of a airheaded hottie.
But you are right that the reverse, women having unrealistic standards, never gets called out.
I think it comes down to the fact that modern culture, however anti-Evolution, instinctively knows that men are evolutionarily in competition for women, rather than the reverse. Shaming them into lowering their standards is reminding them of their natural place in nature: animals who must compete for mating, just like lions or boars.
