My view is India is still in the old order of feudalism. In feudalism there isn't free markets, free trade and free enterprise. In feudalism there is a complex system of licenses, permits, quotas, royal allotments, etc., where by legally limiting supply, permanent artificial shortages are created for each thing in the economy. What this does is give monopolist profits to the license holders. The licenses are passed down in families. In India they call it the 'Permit Raj'.

With this system you can never make progress like Europe had hardly any progress for 1,000 years.

The high caste people who own the licenses they also control the state either directly by being the high government officials in each area, or indirectly through corruption. Since the feudal license holders have most of the money they use this money for political power also.

How did you get out of this. Italy was a poor shithole country into the 20th century still living in feudalism. Then the US/UK took Italy by force of arms in WWII. And remade Italy in America's own image of free markets, free trade and free enterprise. Anyone who disagreed with that in Italy, well they were free to voice their disagreements with the licenses going away,. If they and their fellows tried to take up arms against the new US proxy government, then a few thousand soldiers can pay them a visit and show them the error in their ways.

You don’t think India can get out of this situation without outside force?

Its very difficult to get out of. Its complex enough that normies can't understand it. And even people way down the totem poll will have their local, business specific licenses that they want to keep in place. People aren't smart enough to see how the big picture of this works to keep the whole country poor. They just know they want the state to keep stopping competition in this business.

An example is how India hasn't been able to compete with Bangladesh in textiles. The various restrictions and regulations make it so Indian textiles companies can't scale up. So they can't compete because the Bangladeshis textile companies have built economies of scale. Thing is the Indian textile license owners still want to keep their system because it gives them monopolist profits in the Indian market. Whereas if they allow competition many of them would go down in the competition, even as a few would emerge as very rich.

Another issue in feudalism is the input costs for businesses. When Indian textile companies order materials they have to pay the monopolist prices from the license holders in each of those areas. Whereas the Bangladeshis can buy materials on not just their own free market, but the global free market with free trade.

The other thing is this system is why India has been poor for thousands of years. What are the chances they break out of it now.

Its like in Europe this was the problem in the middle ages. Why didn't production rise for 1,000 years. Because the licenses, permits, etc. made it illegal to produce beyond your quotas.

Ty for the explanation. It’s very depressing to think about considering all of the talent and potential thats being wasted alongside all of the suffering thats being perpetuated due to this system. I have no hope for humanity.

Ya why we want to liberate places is to get the creativity of the people.

America has been taking talent from India for decades now thanks to the h1b lottery system. It’s one of the reasons why America hasn’t collapsed yet.

Because south asians are a slave race. They work efficiently only when a foreign master whips them day in day out (islamic invaders, Britishers, and migrant labourers under their arab/white masters). Once you give them freedom and power to rule they will be no different from a monkey cage in the zoo

Ya I argued for a long time with all the alt-right guys on this. I said we would be complete and utter fools not to let in all these engineers, scientists, doctors, computer programmers and entrepreneurs from India.

They have talent in India but squander it by letting them leave the country. India is so filthy it’s disgusting seeing all the trash. Rivers are brown and smog in the air.
