One of the things that had been bothering me is the question of why face is so much important than body?

A strong face with chisled features like browridge and big jaw can withstand hits better, therefore the traits became attractive for mating preference.

However, the body, is much larger part of us. Evolution wise, in the primal world a large frame and tall height would be advantageous in fights and therefore, surviving. A disadvantage being that these features require massive resources, boatload of food daily which can be hard to come by in the wild. On the contrary, your browridge or square jaw won't mean much. A grizzly bear will just rip you off as easily, at least body guy might be strong and can run off or even fight the animal.

A browridge or a square jaw however, much like the frame and height, withstand hits better to the head, and that they take little to no resources compared to the body traits. E.g. a square jaw doesn't require hundreds or thousands more calories daily and is a mild resource investment, yet may just be attractive as the body traits.

My question is that, according to the 'trait cost' theory, shouldn't body features, like large frame which is expensive to keep be more attractive to cheap features like square jaw?

Because a large part of our brain is devoted to understanding faces.

Therefore we get more information about someone else from the face.

"Now, thanks to the willingness of an intrepid patient, a new study provides the first cause-and-effect evidence that neurons in this area help humans recognize faces—and only faces, not other body parts or objects. "

i'd also like to add that the face gives out a lot more information than anything else, the face is a quick 'summary' of a person's overall health. From the face you can tell a person's age, sex, and general health, confidence and current emotional state.

Studies also show that face of men and women who are very stressed are deemed less attractive than men and women who are less stressed. Being stressed releases stress hormones(cortisol), which over time shape the face differently. They did a study where they took a neutral male face and modified it to look like how he would if he had higher cortisol levels and women deemed it less attractive. Having high cortisol is associated with higher body fat%.

There's heavy correlation with face and body, mainly due to hormones responsibile for developing browridge/jaw being also responbisle for growing clavicles, broader ribcage thicker bones. You'll almost never see a 6'4 birdcel with 23 inch bideltoid. Hence the "good genes come in package" theory.

Yes, it's easier to read everything about genetic composition of potential mate from his facial features.

No human alive can fight a bear, no matter how huge, he'll get effortlessly tossed around like a ragdoll.

A strong V taper on a male is one of the most attractive traits according to tests done when evaluating womens attraction. But our brains are hardwired to instantly recognize a human face (an important ability for a pack/tribalistic animal), and humans are so good they can recognize a face and evaulate it in about 70milliseconds.

That is why face is so important - its a hardwired biological recognition pathway. That is why face will always ultimately be on top of everything else.

Easy. A GL face to a foid means a high chance of GL offspring, due to the fact that GL males typically cannot fraud their good looks. Which is why surgery among incels is frowned upon.

GL offspring means that the genetic legacy has a high chance of also reproducing, continuing their genes. ETC ETC ETC. Yes, height also plays into this of course, the two are equal. They both cannot be/are very hard to fraud, and both signal superior genes with a high chance of having offspring with superior genes also.

A good face indicates good genetics in general, but everyone can bulk up, so it doesn't indicate anything about genetic quality.

the fact that we wear clothes I think has an effect

Body develop mostly the same in most males (except for height) while face can change a lot between individuals that's why face is more important.
