And when we talk about our problems we're not asking people to fix them for us.

If you are accountable for your flaws then you have taken responsibility for changing what you can and accepting what you cannot, meaning you are neither insecure nor angry.

Anger is responsibility.
Making peace with it is laziness.
It (being accountable of what you can or cant change, or accounting for each) isn't mutually inclusive with not being angry or insecure.

You can make a clear decision while being in reserved rage.
There are levels of intelligence.

And often people put more emphasis on looks. again a good looking person raging has more halo than a bad looking person winning a chess tournament.

Stoicism is supposed to be a masculine trait. Only women are supposed to have the luxury to express emotions and cry like babies. Men are supposed to be strong and mentally impervious.

Being mentally imperveous is unrealistic and makes you unmotivated when you're bound to that convention, but are swamped by inevitable insecurities that your best weapon against (anger) isn't there for.
Most people just give up in that case. Learning to stick it out is draining and offers nothing compared to being driven by anger.
