They assimilate and end up having smaller families or no children instead of having big families in their home countries. I don't know why the birth rate is higher in some countries, but it might have to do with less wealth and less feminism. The US has a birth rate of 1.62 while Mexico has it at 1.87. That's not that big of a difference, but other countries like the Philippines and Guatemala which are a source of immigrants to the USA, have birth rates above replacement level. My theory is that immigration reduces the birth rate.
Also, some people say there's a labor shortage. I don't believe that. I believe there's a labor surplus. Immigrants, both legal and illegal, and their children have stolen citizens' jobs.
