Kpop is pretty much western globohomo post industrial media bullshit. Nothing about kpop is "korean" whereas almost everything about bollywold is Indian.

south asians, not as much. Either way, there's some status going on as well, korea and japan are developed countries with some influence over the world so naturally their culture catches more attention. Indians are poor and have a bad reputation.
Also not many people outside india watch these movies, even though some are really good productions.

From what I understand Bollywood really isn't popular outside of India and it's not really marketed towards foreigners the same way K pop is.

If curries had a strong capitalist redpilled leader who opened the country to western businesses and removed the countless restrictions and bans, they could rise as the third global power within a decade. They could even use their status as a democracy to steal some manufacturing jobs from China too. lf they sold some westernized media and they'd even gain supporters in Europe and the USA. It's unlikely to happen though as the rural curries and stuck fighting each other instead of moving forward
There are too many factors which probably won't allow it. The biggest problem is for bollywood to be more westernised ,curries on a whole would have to become more westernised, like japs and koreans are.

Too much of a cultural difference. Local television aired few Indian tv shows and people grow bored of them quickly. Tbh East Asian culture passed the same.
