These profiles once have enough following will then be used for promoting products and sites to niche audiences, such as skin lotions and penis pills.

When some grifter wants to start a hair growth snake oil business, he just has to contact one of those agencies and they'll hook him up with thousands upon thousands of instagram and facebook profiles of balding incels ready to be milked of every last penny, for instance.

They need only a few minutes to analyze your profile to see if you look like you're a good candidate to be blackmailed, offered drugs, scammed or kidnapped, or to capture your info (photo, social media links etc.) For further targeting. Or to get you following "her" Instagram account.

Try putting in your profile that you're married, cheating on your wife with mexican girls in Ciudad del Este, Tijuana etc. doing drugs etc. and link to a credible social media profile and you'll see the scams coming through to you forever.
