Almost every GTA rip-off is better.
Saints Row has better (more over-the-top) weapons and shooting mechanics.
Sleeping Dogs and Yakuza have way better hand-to-hand combat.
People like GTA because of muh realism and the size of the map.

Its a good game, storyline is cheesy, which is expected from crime gang story, still better than competing games. Going on long drives while listening to radio and going ER is fun. I would add more "real life" simulation things in it to make it more realistic.

Yeah, this is one my reasons for enjoying the GTA series. But primarily it's the 'exploration' aspect of the game for me.
