I have been noticing this for a while. People show respect and understanding to people who have disabilities that are physically immediately visible, for example wheelchair users or people with Down Syndrome (they are both physically and mentally disabled, but you get the point). Also its considered socially unacceptable to make jokes or fun about physically disabled people. Meanwhile disabilities that are on the first view not visible from the outside like Autism, schizophrenia or ADHD dont nearly get as much understanding or respect. People constantly joke about being schizo or autistic or accuse others of being so just because they dont behave like a braindead NPC and use it in a discriminatory way. Even if you try to explain people your mental suffering, they rarely have understanding for you and will just continue to treat you like trash.

There is still a sense of humanity with those who are physically disabled. In my view, the normie views them as normal people who just happen to be down on their luck. When dealing with autists or people with DS, they don't quite view them as human, more like humanoids or creatures impersonating humans and all their hostility comes out since we mentally and personality wise are nothing like them

Makes sense

Because mental is much harder to see
Even if you tell people that you have mental disabilities, they will still continue to treat you like shit

This. Physical disability is obvious and people empathize with it. They don’t think of mental issues as real problems. My brutal OCD is just as real of a problem as joint problems are

Because there is stigma around it. People don’t believe you really or think you’re crazy

I guess thats it. A physical disability can immediately be seen and recognized. But they cant see our brain structure and see thats its physically different compared to NTs. Thats why they like to gaslight us and tell us its all in our head, its easy to deny the existence of mental problems because you cant see them immediately

That’s precisely it right there. People who see me at first have no concept of the hell my OCD can be, or how my Aspie brain can’t get interested in much besides my specific interests. Fuck, even some people here get mad I mention cars too much, so picture what the normie society thinks.

One time I had hip surgery and needed crutches for a month. People clearly saw the disability and would hold doors for me and be nicer. But other than that, nobody cares about anything I have going on mentally and is quick to judge. Can’t change my brain

Tbh i dont think it will ever get better for people with mental disabilities. There has been campaigns, mental health awareness since decades and yet everyone continues to shit on Aspies

It definitely will not, sadly. It’s too rare (yes, genuine Asperger’s, severe autism, OCD, and anxiety disorders are rare), and people hate what’s different and won’t understand

People don't understand autism. Most people who know I've been diagnosed with it still think I can just work hard and it goes away.

I knew a dudecel that used crutches for many years after his injury healed...

Probably for that extra fraction of niceness

That's the ticket! Feel sorry for the fraudulent cripplecel!
I wouldn’t go to the lengths of faking injury to get nicer treatment. I love walking

The dude walked down the highway with them bro... Walk all normal, then leaned on them to hitchhike... To the liquor store or the real town

Because according to them the only disabilities that exist are the ones whERe you can clearly see the pERson has it.

High intelligence man he was.

Most normies don’t take mental illnesses seriously

I told everyone that if I ever acted like him to just shoot me. Lol.

He had many dogs, 10+... All mostly feral.
Couldn’t imagine having that many dogs

His nickname was

Dog shit... (Doggydo)

Because he smelled like dog shit. It's said he fucked them too!

He was actually married for a while!
Damn that’s crazy!
:dafuckfeels:

depends on different types of illnesses/disabilities, some are less severe in which the opposite would be taken much more seriously

The same normies and foids who advocate for disability rights would have no shame dunking on autistic men

because being physically disabled is more harder nigga? muh depression muh autism try not being able to do simple things

If the disability is a microdick they will get humiliated brutal

Sure bro, mental issues dont exist bro. Just like race is a social construct bro, there are no difference between races bro, we are all equal bro

nigga you retarded being physically disabled is way more brutal not comparable to ur bitch ass mental issues. crying about muh mental issues is also a foid trait

It somehow approves the bluepill in the way that "It doesn't matter how do you look, it matters what do you have in your head or pERsonality" :soy: :soy: .But honestly, what do you have in your head definitely matters (not much but at least enough to not be considered really a retard)

Thats the issue, if you have severe Autism/Aspergers people will treat you like a literal retard. I saw more than enough exampes of guys uglier than shorter than me who were treated way better than i did because they were neurotypical. Autists embody everything that NTs hate

A man with a busted set of legs still has an NT brain to respond to cues and converse in the same way as any other normie.

In my experience people with physical or severe mental disabilities get treated better to their face than people with more mild and invisible disabilities but normies still talk shit about them and make fun of them behind their back.

How alien the experiences are to the average normie. Most lack empathy if it's too alien of an experience for them(which is also why they hate incels).

It's very easy for anyone to imagine themselves having a physical disability and the potential suffering it could cause, as well as it being very much explored in media how it can affect the common person. If you broke your leg or destroyed your arm, you can very easily imagine how hard life can really be without those functioning parts because of how reliant you are on it.

It's similar with Down Syndrome, people see Down Syndrome synonymous with extremely severe autism and when combined with the childlike features down syndrome patients have as well as the typical below average look, even if it's alien to them it is still very easy for them to imagine someone like that will struggle to deal with everyday life. They sort of see them as even more disabled than a lot really are because of how media portrays them.

Now, with mental disorders; it is a completely different matter. To the outside viewer, you are quite literally just like everybody else and VISIBLY functioning well yet you act differently to others because you view the world differently/your mind processes things differently; to a lot of people, this just sounds too alien to them to comprehend and therefore empathise with.

Empathy is built on the prospect that you can put yourself in their shoes and understand their struggles, but mental illness goes AGAINST that, they aren't able to put themselves in your shoes because they aren't able to understand your thought process, to them it seems much easier to deal with from their perspective because they would deal with the situation from THEIR thought process and can't imagine having to see the world from your perspective for YEARS; which leads to people being able to joke about it more bluntly and unempathetically because they struggle to empathise and just think it's not as serious as it really is.

You can't just say that when you most likely only suffer from mild Autism lmao.
it's not just mild autism it's very severe autism had depression ever since i hit puberty and im ab to be 30

i can say the same thing you can't just compare the two unless your physically disabled urself
