Hard language, slow progression, good lessons (not just community college beginner courses) aren't cheap and it's not even useful unless you have to move to Japan. Even if you have to do business with Japanese they'll probably either communicate in English or hire an interpreter rather than speaking Japanese with you.
Not to mention the Japanese learning classes are full of tryhard weebs who shout random Japanese words (baka, aishteru, sumimasen, etc.) like my middle school friend. Not realizing they laugh at him and not with him. Also full of foids badly mimicking the cute anime foid accent.
