"Women are oppressed, they get paid less and suffer with harassment" - A: "no, they're not, because this woman here gets paid a lot and never suffered harassment"

"Gay people are oppressed, they suffer violence and discrimination" - A: "no they're not, because this gay person here never suffered violence and discrimination"

"Blacks are oppressed, they suffer police brutality and discrimination" - A: "no, they're not, because this black person here never suffered police brutality and discrimination" (note: no one alive today was subjected to black slavery in the west and all races both enslaved and were enslaved throughout history)

the concept of an outlier implies that this guy has something that makes him different from the rest. He's outlier for REASONS. And when you take a closer look, you see exactly why his case might or might not be applicable to someone else. Yes your ugly cousin got a gf somehow, but it doesn't mean that someone else too can automatically have this just because he happen to be in the same position as your cousin by virtue of having those aspects that they two have in common.
