Like it has nothing to do with surviving and reproducing. What's the scientific reason why we like music? Is they a reason behind it. We like sex to reproduce we like food so we can survive. But why music. Why is entertainment necessary. Is they something written in our DNA to make us like music

Music is quite expressive. That is, music expresses mental patterns and thoughts.

When I listen to music, I not only associate songs with memories and fantasies; I perceive unique verbal patterns.

Because it's appealing.

You mentioned sex, so think about it this way: it's been shown that men with deeper voices father more children and have a higher number of partners throughout their lives.

Higher-pitched voices in women are appealing as well. Our brains are captivated by the striking voice sound of the opposite sex.

It's similar to the effect of music. The sound, the melody, the rhythm, the intonation, the volumethey all contribute to the appeal.
