Why weren't earlier generations blackpilled like modern generations are? Today we see loss of pair bonding, total collapse of dating, and gender war between men and women. We are paranoid about each others flaws and ghost one another at the slightest risk of failure. I think this is due to the blackpill mindset of women, which now has rubbed onto men too. No one is willing to settle for less than perfection. Margin of error is small. People are ready to give up on life if they can't attain their perfection; its an all or nothing mindset. However, our prior generations weren't like this. They were willing to put up with being less, being imperfect, and even being a burden, whereas modern people seek to avoid burdens at all cost.

True, but many women were also happy to settle for less.

If most could find a partner and raise a family, who cares?

I'm sure they cared about preserving good genes, at least the elite and their bloodline did. Obviously, for the rest, it was just about having sex and producing as many children as possible so they could work

Genetic and DNA sciences are relatively new, with most breakthroughs occurring in the mid-1950s to early 1960s. Before that, we weren't well-versed in the nature of it outside of good looks versus bad looks. We also didn't have the internet and social media, which allows for the globalization of mogging and constant comparison. Healthier diets, less sun exposure, and less disease have allowed people to become more attractive looking. Online dating and social media allow people to explore options outside of their immediate area.

Yeah these are all great reasons but we did know about physiognomy. Eugenics movement existed in America prior to the 20th century and they were fiercely against third world immigration. You can read into things like the Chinese Exclusion Act and what not. Nazis took inspiration from them.

People back then knew who to select for and who to discriminate against, but somehow those ideas never gained ground, probably because of the disastrous consequences of WW2, and also because diseases killed off the weak and hysterical anti-civilization whore women were institutionalized and lobotomized, so no strong movement was needed against disruptive maladaptive non-performant people. But in the post war years, advancements in housing solutions and healthcare uplifted the masses and kept maladaptive people alive.
