in real life counterfeiters would slice off a thin part of the coin so you wouldn't even notice unlike in the video where it shows them clipping off an entire chunk. Also antique/medieval governments modified coins to combat scammers long before joos came into power
 
oh shit i just realized
joos were the ones cutting coins so the governments introduced ridging, now it makes sense tbh
