The bluepill is the norm, the blackpill the exception. Also, parents - especially those who are concerned about their offspring - at least managed to get into a relationship and procreate. This increases the likelihood that they are bluepilled. Furthermore, biologically speaking parenting is all about spreading and securing the existence of one's genes / the genes of kin. A mindset that it's over for one's kin would have been a great evolutionary disadvantage. They rather want you to try, try, try...
But this is so often the case with evolutionary traits. They have developed in and for primitive hunter-gatherer tribes, but don't necessarily work in our modern environment anymore. Like, having a sweet tooth was obviously a good thing if the sweetest food available is fresh fruit. But today, with "empty calories" around, a strong desire for getting sweet food all the time is obviously a disadvantage for your health.
And I guess similar things are true when it comes to mating. Or not giving up...

at the time of our parents, people were valued for different things.
for example, everyone remembers the paperboy or the milkman (at that time) but no one remembers them today.
you had this notion of "hard honest work" that we simply don't have today. nowdays it dosen't matter what your job is or how you are in person.
its more about how much money you have, and the way you look.
people used to admire great inventors, great engineers, great thinkers, now its just celebrities here, celebrities there. you don't even have to do anything to be a celebrity. and people value celebrities to the point where its sickening.
its obvious why our parents don't understand us, is because we don't understand the zeitgeist of that era.
we live in an age where no one has value, just good goy points.
if you don't post pictures of yourself in some shithole country, then your'e nobody. and sadly that's what people care about. vacations, leisure,luxury. this is what defines a person in 2018

It simply boils down the them being born before an age of technology and this modern heavy promiscuity. Back in their time they didn't have dog-collar wearing thots proudly parade themselves around in public, they didn't have tinder, they didn't have all the intricacies that allowed females to be as brutal and choosey as they are today, and like all past generations they assume the newer generation has it easy and that they're just 'slacking' and refuse to accept that such large negative changes have been made.
