In the rpg genre for instance, the Souls games mog the shit out of any American game. Japan mogs in the horror genre as well.

  • no leftist sjw propaganda
  • american game companies are full of jews
  • choosing to make a quality game over whatever is more profitable (in-game transactions)
  • japan has beautiful landscape and scenery while all americans know is 16-lane roads, concrete, boring flat grass lands, they have national parks like Yellowstone which is beautiful but if you're poorfag visiting the scenic parts of USA is a rare occasion, all this contributes to having a less refined imaginatin and creativity
  • japan has a reputation of putting in 110% of their passion and hard work into everything

both have good and shit games respectively, ur just being a weeb

Souls feels like an obesity simulator complete with an obsession with gothic shit and Europe

I think they focus more of fun experience than realist mechanics, but maybe that's just me.
Plenty of western games are great though.

Ya I worked for a few years for a US gaming company. It seemed all about money. Like no one except me seemed to care even slightly about how fun the game was.

The Japanese sometimes they held off releasing a game to rework it to make it fun. A US company wouldn't even think about the fun side, they just rush to release and get sales.

I tried to make organization on how to make the game fun. Like how to build that into our corporate structure. And tons of ideas I had for making the games fun.

Literally no one was interested at all, they just wanted to rush and get the game out. Then as soon as it was out, to rush the next game and get more money.

They even got rid of programmers who were good so they could outsource to cheaper programmers.

I told them realize I Was just 20 at the time I said this isn't the way to make monster money. You want a game that is just 'fun'.. its not about graphics its not about all this dumb shit they were doing. Its about playing with the game mechanics and scoring. Then when you have a property that a lot of people just play because its fun, you can release a 2nd game that you already got a lot of people who are into the game and will buy it.

Then they were thinking ya then we could make a cheap ass game and dump it and makes tons of money because we would have a good reputation on the first game. I said no this whole thinking is not the way to make money. Money is something that comes don't worry about it. When you have a good product that is just fun and tons of depth through the game mechanics so players gradually get better and better to insane levels the more time they put in.. the money will pile up.

The other problem they had is the creative people they weren't the management. The management were all these suits that weren't programmers or artists or game designers. Some of them didn't even play games on their own time.

There was one really smart guy who ran the whole office where I was and he was listening to me even though he was always in this huge rush. But I was speaking the truth and didn't care about my job(video game tester).. I was actually playing the fucking game all day long. So he was listening to me and saying ya I can see it man. And he saw some of my ideas the potential, but again in a massive rush all the time so he couldn't focus fully but I was getting there.

But then he got promoted to making $600k a year in an even higher level management job and he left our site only visiting sometimes. Like they had layer after layer of insanely highly paid managers.

I even told him straight out stop rushing the fuck around and listen. Gaming isn't about rushing and flying to meetings and rushing projects. Its about gaming lol. He was listening and I wasn't fired, but he had to do all these idiotic corporate reports justifying ever penny spent. I was like why the fuck are you so busy you aren't even the project manager. But it was this corporation with paperwork that wasn't even about gaming.

Another good thing is this guy who was running our office he actually was gaming, we were playing Starcraft together.

When you see how they do scoring in the game like the points, you would just shake your head. It was rushed in one day the scoring system and thenthe designer got put on another project. When I had improvements to give it a lot of depth they said sorry its already in Beta testing too late.
