A lot of the behavior isn't logical. It's just the byproduct of human evolution, traits that were valuable 20,000 years ago.

Women are physically weak. They cannot fend for themselves' in humanity's natural environment, so they must always seem agreeable. They have to lie and act to make themselves likable. A man could potentially survive being outcasted in prehistoric times. A woman could not.
