The magic could affect them for their entire lives (if you keep doing it), and you'll get your satisfaction for as long as they're alive. But then, if there's an afterlife, you'll be paying the price in hell for an eternity. I mean, if there are demons and spirits you can summon and bind to do your bidding, there probably is some kind of afterlife and some version of a heaven and a hell tbh.
