I also have lucid dreams almost every day, and it is a sweet sweet release from the draining exhaustion of my painful, shitty existence.

But I have another thing I was wondering if anyone else here also has, and thats spontaneous photographic memory while in lucid dream state, which then dissipates quickly.

It goes something like, while im in a lucid state, I sometimes randomly visualise opening a book that im currently reading IRL and turning the pages, and despite making no effort to memorize the words on the pages, In the dream state I can see and read all the words on the pages and can turn the page and all the words on the next page appear crystal clear, and I can mentally "read" the book in the lucid dream state. I have no idea how much of the book I could remember, but its happened many times in past few months where I started mentally reading a book for several pages, then I went to wake up and got the physical book and checked the words, and I was reading them word for word mentally in my dream.

I'll say that again, I made no effort at all to memorize the words I was reading from the various books, and yet my brain under lucid state can recreate every word on several pages of those books exactly like photographic memory, and allows me to mentally read the books without touching the physical book.

Its never been the whole book, only 3 or 4 pages at a time before I wake up, but still, it makes me wonder, if everyone is capable of photographic memory, but some kind of brain processes severely cloud over your recollection of memory, and under a lucid dream state the brain is able to remove the cloud and you can recall with crystalline accuracy every visual stimulus youve seen that day. Idk.

Anyway, anyone have this happen to them before? or similar kinda cool psychic-esque things?

and I by no means have conscious photographic memory, my memory is absolutely terrible especially with daily LDAR, but somehow lucid sleep changes that sometimes.

Wish I could lucid dream. Done it a dozen or so times in my life.

everytime I try to lucid dream my dumb ass makes it a scary dream. I don't even mean to I just spawn a bunch of scary shit accidentally. I remember the first time I did it I thought "I'm dreaming. sweet I can make anything happen!" and then a bunch of worms and maggots starting crawling out of my skin and pores. Every other time its been like that or something else like getting attacked. I wish I could do it but its obvious its not for me lmao.

I only lucid dream once. I realized i was a dream and knew i could do anything i wanted so i did the superman matrix flight thingy haha.

Lucid dreaming is satanic.

I can translate ancient greek.

I have invisible virginity protection shield.

I occasionally have lucid dreams. But I have incredibly vivid dreams

The text is only gibberish for me LOL

Every experiment I've tried regarding memory/memories in general always results in some amount of deja-vu's so I haven't really been able to quantify just how much it can be done with memory.
I'll gladly share what I've found until now:
  • Memories of the day before sleeping are very very clear (so I can confirm your findings), however they are not always accurate, they only seem so
  • The brain seems to like to keep memory consistency even if it results in deja-vu's . e.g. I try to recall a recent memory in the dream, and in doing so, sometimes it will result in a fake memory : the brain will create the fake memory "placeholder" and then remember it on the spot, but the memory won't actually be filled (don't know If I'm making sense here) after waking up, the memory is "confirmed" causing the placeholder memory to become a real one... It took a lot to figure that this was actually happening, but it is not difficult to come with experiments that confirm this.
  • You can't delete old memories, I tried lots of times, it just isn't possible as far as I'm concerned at most you can modify details
  • It is possible however to influence to a degree which memories of the day become more permanent just by focusing on them a lot, this is an incredible ability when you spent the day studying something.
  • General memory recall is better inside dreams, although memories tend to get distorted over time.
  • It is possible to generate a memory in which you are in several bodies at the same time, and then you remember all points of view, this one also difficult to do it is also weird because you might remember talking to yourself while having both parts of the conversation.
  • Fake memories can only be generated to a certain degree, in essence, you have to set a scenario up where the fake memory will be played, then play it, and lose the lucidity while it happens, if the scenario was good enough, sometimes it'll become a memory and you won't be able to tell if it was real or not. For all practical purposes, this is very limited

My special ability is just autism
