He's a "creep", according to many. Maybe I'm biased, but I don't see it.
I've seen him taking flak just for having a crush on Emily, but - how else is a relationship supposed to even start? Even if his feelings aren't reciprocated, you have to at least try otherwise the answer is a definite no. "You miss all the shots you don't take", so the saying goes.
Then there's a number of quotes about her.
"Emily started helping me without any provocation... does that mean something?" - Maybe a bit weird to some but I don't see it entirely that way. As an emotionally abused person, every time a woman did or said something nice to me I would always think "huh, I'm not used to that, could this be love?"
One cutscene involves Clint hiding behind a bush, wanting to ask Emily out on a date but too nervous to do so, but does so with help from the player. There's also a quest involving Clint tasking the player with bringing Emily an amethyst, her favorite stone, as he's too afraid to do it himself.
Many normies/foids see this as "creepy" but I just see it as a troubled person dealing with insecurities who wants to do the right thing but it but is too afraid to fuck things up.
He looks like an unattractive neckbeard. So some middle-aged looking guy hitting on this younger girl is creepy in their eyes even if Clint isn't old. He could be seen as her dad so they automatically can't be shipped because they would look like father and daughter.
