If there is something that is second to halo effect in cruelty, that is the Shadow/hierachy effect. An even more cruel joke is that for women, the effect is the complete opposite.
Cheerleader effect causes women to be perceived as more attractive if they are grouped with other equal or more attractive peers. So, when women are put side by side, the least attractive ones will actually seem to be MORE attractive than if they are alone.
Meanwhile for males is the complete opposite. Even if a male is attractive, if he is put side by side with a more attractive one, the former will become completely invisible, and seen as LESS attractive than he actually is.
While women blend in with their peers making people think "look a group of hot women", men are subconsciously put in a hierachy if they are in group, with the potential to be actually lose value compared to them being seem alone.
I fucking hate how the natural world is all cooperation for women (even if they personally compete and backstab each other), while its all mog or be mogged/dominate/competition for men. I fucking hate nature.
