Well here in NL you see a lot of those old homes ( First picture ) and the more you go to the outskirts you'll see new homes.
Similar to UK?
Would you say UK is more culturally closer to Nothern Europe (Sweden, NL ect) or closer to France

Probably a mix. The houses where I live were built in the 90's or before, since the land was originally a farmland before it was purchased. It's also terraced so I might take back what I said and say old homes, since what you've shown for new; looks as though they are mainly detached.
