That added to the history but "Chad" frequent usage began on the misc bodybuilding forums in response to Chad from The Bachelor who grew a cult following to miscers while he was on the show. He was the hero misc needed and they pretty much worshipped him. There were the regular guys and then there was Chad. That he was also called Chad just added ro it further. The alpha male who got the girls became known as "Chad" on those forums mostly in reference to him and due to his cult following it spawned a craze of Chad threads and it grew from there.

Also from bodybuilding misc forums. You had Chads, Stacies, Tyrones and Timothies. There were literally regular threads and discussions deciding on the name for the female equivalent of "Chad". Eventually they settled on Stacy.
