Serious Where did "Stacy" come from?

In HS all the super popular preppy blonde type girls were more the Brittneys, the Kristens, etc. Could just be my personal experience but the only "Stacy" I remember was more a plain Jane type girl with glasses (who no doubt in 2018 feels entitled to Chad, but is still certainly no Stacy). Is there some story behind it or what?

Just a "mean girl" popular girl sounding name. Although the story of where "tyrone" came from, where I think it came from, is pretty hilarious.

The gimmick was started at 2015 or earlier and one of the old comments said something like "we all know a tyrone" with a few hundred likes.
