When I was little I used to talk in stilted speech, now I lose the train of thought very easily

I did that to appear more high iq but I was just odd. I talked using overly accurate, formal...now I try to fix my odd speech trying to talk using common words but I feel like I lose the train of thought mid sentence and I feel like I have to think about every word.
It looks forced like I don't finish the sentence.

I talk like a strangers who's trying to talk in another language.
Also I'm not fast at replying to small talk/banter...I just stand there and I smile/laugh nervously
