I think it's mostly because females feel less guilty to have a new boyfriend every week and ride the cc. In 1900, she would've been rejected by society for doing this. It was very high risk. Like mentionned earlier, men also die much less than before. The few wars we have are not as deadly and working is not as dangerous. Third reason is new tools making everything easier for women. Though, I feel like while men in the past valued women, they didn't give them power like they have now. Women were forced to fulfill their side of the bargain (cook, clean, take care of children, remain monogamous) while women nowadays are worshiped just for existing.
