Andreas Lubitz was a German airline pilot who deliberately crashed his plane, killing all 150 passengers on board, including himself. Many of the passengers were adolescents. Before the plane crash, Lubitz had recently broken up with his girlfriend who was fairly attractive and who was 4 years younger than him, despite Lubitz balding and having a beta looking face. Some say that when his girlfriend broke up with him, Lubitz realized he would probably never get another girl who was at least average in looks, and this made him so depressed that it drove him to crash the plane.

I find it particularly frustrating that angry people who decide to lash out and do something extreme like that never target the actual person/group that caused their misery, but random people who had nothing to do with it. Most times they're not even related, like, "a feminist screwed me up, I'm gonna go ER on feminists". No, it's usually more like "a feminist screwed me up, so I'll shoot up a kindergarten".
