It wasn't a huge insult, but its context and its origin were what made it stuck out the most.

It was senior year. It was halloween and I had to dress up as something scary in order to perform an activity for the kids at my school. I didn't really have anything to wear, so I kind of improvised and wrapped myself up with toilet paper, shitty eye makeup and black lipstick from one of my female classmates so I could look like a mummy.

I performed and played in front of the kids. I was so proud and convinced that everyone enjoyed it. I felt happy about it. Then, while I was chilling after the activity, a small female kid came up to me, dead-silent, only for her to mutter five-seconds later: "you look stupid" and leave.

I felt enraged, sad, frustrated. All the ego I've built up, how proud I was, how legitimately cheerful I felt, only for some kid to come at me and hand me the truth on a cold dish. I went to the bathroom and tore my costume apart.
