Since WW2 approximately (but the trend had started way earlier), we have become fully Americanized. Nearly all our culture comes from NA. NA culture, which is Protestant, strongly clashes with both Catholicism and atheism. That results in people who are conflicted, bitter, and who don't really know how to organize their life, what values to uphold.
I'm maybe just projecting, but that's the impression I get from most people in my country. A lot are clueless or miserable.

I would not say Latin American culture, but Brazilian culture. Brazil has worse culture of Latin America, it is a union of the worse things of the West and the Latin culture. That is why this forum has many Brazilians who are incels.
