$500 is not enough, just save your money until you can get $700 and buy a Ryzen cpu on sale and find a 4 year old gpu used on eBay.
Also check PCpartpicker, they have plenty of lists and ideas with compatibility checker

You probably can’t upgrade anything with $500 so you will be spending much more money long term.
You wont be able to play modern games smoothly for a 500$ gaming PC. Unless of course the games you wanna play games dont have high requirements, then you dont need to think too much about the specs.

Not my point. You could have a decent budget build with that money, now any GPU from the 5000 series mogs your entire budget.
No it wouldn't be decent either considering the state of AMD back then and gtx 1060s costing 300 euros so your only option was a 1050 ti, which was abysmal for new releases.
It doesn't matter if RTX 5000 cost an arm and a leg now. Just buy the cheapest one and enable DLSS + 4X framegen and you'll btfo consoles stuck on 2020 hardware
2025 is a terrible time to build a cheap PC, sadly.
true though laptop apus are coming 2h25 so wait a bit more for new hardware
