Oldcels like @Emba was it easier for ugly men to get women if they were like a 3? How did they date, was it with other unattractive women or did they also trade up back then like they do now? I am curious what that time period was like to be incel and also how it was socially? Was it easier to make friends with an ugly male face? What was the culture like? Were there differences in how people socialized from now? I am very interested in this time period and wonder if many of us would have been incel or ascended back then?

In 1950 there was a shortage of men and women were expected and somewhat required to marry off meaning it was feasible for an average to even below average man to get a woman, in the 60s and early 70s there had been an entirely new generation that had come of age and perversions such as the sexual revolution/women's liberation and even more female employment were in full swing, things were brutal but not as bad as they would become as some families were able to insulate their daughters from that and force them to settle for average men, by the late 90s even most of the elderly had grown up in a world where women were able to survive on their own and the older men grew up in a time of female abundance and thus would not be able to relate to the struggles of the modern incel. In all honesty I think the 90s may have been the most brutal time for incels as there were more than there were previously, nobody to relate to their struggles, and acceptance of sexual deviancy had already become normalized. Everything since then has been just more of the same but with continually decreasing quality of women and increased hypergamy.

It is still feasible for average to slightly below average men to be able to get women, only men who are significantly below average sub4 are com pletely excluded. So did ugly sub4 men actually get women back then? Also, good explanation on the difference between the 1950s, 60s and 70s and 90s.

Probably as shit as any other period.

In 1950 there was a shortage of men
Depends on the country. US' war dead for example weren't even 1% of the population so that wouldn't have changed anything about the dating dynamics. USSR on the other hand had lost massive amounts of people and while that probably did affect the dating dynamics, I know that there also arose an entire stereotype of a workoholic woman who never married and just dedicated her life to her job. So while it probably did make things easier for unattractive guys and raise their value because there weren't any alternatives, the sheer amount of never married women would also make it more socially acceptable to be forever single for those women who absolutely refused to even touch a sub-3, so that I imagine would've been a double-edged sword.

And the other countries were probably in-between those extremes.

Followed you for this high effort response.
I actually hammer frequently on the sexual revolution and other post 1950 events that took place, but I didn't know about the gender imbalance at all (there being a lot more women than men). Interesting.
