Visual novels are a great way to get your reading and weeb fix in. They have some advantage over manga in that you can have the entire media stored on your computer, in color, sometimes with animations. Which have you read? For me, Doki Doki Literature Club and Crimson Gray are the ones I gave a high rating to on vndb.org

Doki doki is the only one I've tried.

Last VN I read was Narcissu, it was pretty short but I thought it was good sad story.
Other then that I've read a few popular ones like fate, nekopara, clannad, song of saya, etc..

Also read Saya, interesting aesthetic but thought the plot was rather cliche (kill the alien to save the world) but still rated it an 8 on vndb.org

don't really like visual novels that much but 13 sentinels: aegis rim was good, although it is half visual novel and half mecha strategy game

Not faggot anime stuff I read non anime comics

All the good ones are in Japanese and untranslated so I can’t read any of them

Limb wristed anime trannies need not apply.

Disco ellisium and the likes. Its actually takes a lot of time and becomes boring after a while.

the last one I read was nekopara. A masterpiece 10/10

do i read vol 1 or vol 0 first?
I don't think it matters too much tbh.
0 is just kind of just a filler backstory one that you learn about most of the "important" events in vol 1 anyways.
You just get more time with the other girls then in 1

it says it's a fandisc for vol. 1.
seems like it's better to start with 1 and treat 0 like a prequel.

meh, it was alright imo, if you're into cute girls doing cute things type anime you will enjoy it.
If not then it can be boring like you said.

i enjoy some of the more popular ones like k-on, but i guess i'm not into it enough, since it's just blocks of text while they float

Flowers by innocent grey. wlw romance is my favorite cope ngl.

I also enjoyed friend to lovers by SMEE a lot. It's one of the VNs that are genuinely funny (which is kind of rare imo given the weird sense of humor of Japanese). Sadly I can't relate much to the protagonist because he's too high-T

Kotaro Uchikoshi used to write for VNs, among which Ever 17 is my favorite. Highly recommended if you are old enough to appreciate the art style.

Guilty Crown has a derived VN that's also really good. Much better than the anime. Truly a hidden gem since most people never paid attention to the VN given how shitty the anime is.
