The most encompassing tendencies for something show its center of gravitation. When people are superficial its because that is the way of our biology.
In almost anything majority tendencies show up. Either because of biological inclination or the way it corresponds with physics in the environment around it. The majority of river-stones oval out. Because that is the way stone itself, as a piece of matter, interacts with the ongoing influence of river water.
Such is the same with humanity. We have a tendency which corresponds with the environment of our evolution.
The implication of evolution is that resources are limited, and we need to be vicious in order to out-do the viciousness of other creatures who threaten our survival.
Then, after we conquered our predators we turned to eachother. This is where the evolutionary element of selection really came into play.
Choosing a being for a mate means being more distinct than the others for survival, dominance, power, etc.
Things that we as a human race are supposed to feel whole by, because all of our cells/ enzymes/ genes tell us our lives will be enriched by it.
The human biology itself is the lead cause of the most generalized form of "evil" by christian/ classic society doctrine.
This is the inclination of the majority of humanity. Making it the majority inclination.
When something is the majority inclination then that means it must be the most deeply ingrained programming of our species. Which means it must have the greatest pull of them all, no matter how many exceptions. There is a greater pull to humanity as a whole than any of the exceptions.
It is the center-gravity of our nature. That is what the majority inclination means.
This is where gravity centralizes, and where the absence of willpower/ artificial alterations end up taking everything to.
The center gravity of our nature is as strong as it is in proportion of its prominence in our whole population.
When it is 90% common for us to be superficial, evil, uncaring, unthinking, primal then that is the strongest impulse in us all that we are fighting against.
Its strength as an impulse/ temptation is in proportion to how prominent it is and thus every variation has had an equally difficult time getting itself away from that tendency. Like how hard it takes for water drops to defy gravity when the larger body of water it is a part of has already met/ settled on even ground.
