@zd60 I think that's it
I'm done with gentoo installation
I took the hardest route, minimal iso installation so everything I did was written line by line, with hardened selinux profile
I finished it with a DE installation
It was a fun experiment, I still can't say I learned much in the process tbh
even though everything I did was manual,
I learned to use menuconfig, the meaning and the function of command lines, manual partitioning, .conf, reading logs, etc
but I contemplate: Idk how would this benefit me as someone who uses a full fledged distro like fedora and Idk if I want to switch to main-ing it on a real environment outside of vm
I don't know if I truly want the benefit of having super optimized packages and resource use at the cost of some compile time.
The whole thing lasted less than a week, if it wasn't for selinux issues it would be a day at most, I honestly thought that installing gentoo would require 3 months or something (I mean it could if you want to really perfect it)
I figured that it needs time the more time you pour into it the better it gets and the better you get at solving it's issues.
so I consider it as a challenge, but I'll proceed with fedora on my main and will install debian-netinst on my spare laptop later to practice server setups
I want to specially thank you for helping me put the finishing touches and fixes to boot my experiment vm brocel!
