John m browning legit made the gun with its 3d internal components in 1911 without any CAD software.. he basically invented the modern handgun.. handguns wouldn’t have slides if it wasn’t for him.
Check out what CABOT GUNS makes. Their 1911’s go for tens of thousands of dollars, one of them costs $4,500,000 IIRC.. made of meteorite.
I’d love to have a pair of these framed in a display case on my wall.. almost all modern pistols functonally mog 1911’s, but they’re just so good looking and have such solid engineering.
