People always say male vs female is unfair coz we are bigger.

Well there's no size requirement to play video games. Yet I still don't see any females at esports (unless you think trannies are female)

I remember every time I attended some event they had a Wii or whatever , there was Mario kart on it. And for some reason females always sucked at it. Keep in mind the dudes were just casuals and didn't play it much either.

So clearly there must be some genetics involved at playing video games competitively.

Ngl there's almost no money to be made in Vidya since it's competitive and time consuming and at this stage it doesn't have the recognition and money of real sports. This is why e-thottery on Twitch has taken off since it requires no skill and just the ability to hold male attention.

From what I see it takes more than just talent to stay the best at a game. You need to practice like 12hrs each day and when the newer version of a game comes out you have to basically start over again from scratch. What's worse is the pay is so unreliable if you choose the wrong game it can be a life ender. I've witnessed talented men waste their entire youth and adulthood on poverty games that never make it to the mainstream audience, then these guys enter the workforce in their 30's with no real skills and homeless.

You can argue it's the testosterone that gives strength and stuff, but women are also shit at chess compared to men. This problem has actually bugged people for hundreds of years, so you might be able to find more research on this than on male esports advantage.

What you may want to know is that Korea had separate StarCraft leagues for men and women, but they eventually merged and the top1 ladder girl ended up at like top500 when faced off against men.

I've played a few games "competitively" and, while it depends on the game, generally you need to:

• invest a lot of time (many thousands of hours usually, time requirements quickly rise with game complexity);
• have high IQ to come up with strategies and identify your weaknesses/mistakes. Alternatively, you can be low IQ and have someone else do this for you;
• be lucky;
• not have Down's or Parkinson's (though some pro CSGO players might disagree on that one);
• be relatively young (10-30 seems to be the sweet spot, especially for games that are low on thinking and high on reflexes and muscle memory).

Also remember that plenty of players even in the most popular esports cheat.

Back when I was following Dota 2 and CSGO I also was convinced many professional games were scripted to keep people on the edges of their seats. Like WWE, basically.
