Genuinely the only things I can think of are extreme torture, poverty, slavery, starvation, dehydration, and molestation.
Being an ugly unlovable freak is truly up there with the worst things that can happen to you. Because it doesn’t matter what hardships you face, if you have a warm body to cuddle with at night, to feel her warmth, to feel accepted, to feel loved, to feel desired physically.
You will be happier, you will feel more motivated. Life suddenly doesn’t feel so pointless to you anymore, even though it still is objectively.
You can ignore the bad things more, you can breath and relax knowing that you have that darling someone to hold against you as you press your forehead against hers.
