By paraplegic, I mean a person who is in a wheelchair and can’t move their legs. Who has the more difficult life? The paraplegic can’t walk, but atleast he has good social skills and can get laid. I knew a guy in high school who was in a wheelchair. He thought he had a worse life than me.

What do you guys think?

Paraplegia refers to complete or partial paralysis in both legs and, in some people, parts of the lower abdomen.
The bare minimum to be considered a paraplegic. Aspergers/Autism is more a spectrum, so one could roll the dice and take their chances. Yes, yes, I know how debilitating even so-called "high-functioning" Aspergers can be. I'd never trade that for loss of function of my lower body. Limited freedom, perhaps having to rely on others - would send me off my rocker.

Atleast people would have more sympathy for you, people are assholes towards autistic people

Sympathy would be nice in my formative years, but once we are adults and have to face the harsh realities of adulthood that sympathy would quickly irk. Between severe Autism and paraplegia I'd choose the latter, but on the less extreme side I'd choose Autism. Already have experience with it; mobility above all, even if it means facing difficulties in many other avenues of life that a NT paraplegic wouldn't have to deal with.

That's interesting you mentioned that can chads be handicapped and still slay?

If you have light autism you just need to eat some broccoli sprouts and your meme illness will go away

As an autist who suffered quite a bit under my autism, I suspect paraplegic is way worse, especially if you are above avrg IQ autist.
I would take autism over paraplegic even with low IQ, but there you can argue the other side.

What makes the question more difficult is how large the variance in symptoms and their severity amongst autists is.

I can see some good sides to paraplegia though. Everyone has to show you sympathy and help you out, you might get lots of support from the state, no one expects much of you, you might catch a girl with some out of control mothering instinct who is looking for something to nurse or who just wants to virtue signal to the max by having a walking (well, rolling) virtue medal as a partner.
Still, I don't think all those things are worth not walking.

Might also heavily depend if viagra works for you. Think some paraplegics can get hard with some help, which might tip the balance the other way.

there are technologies today that can make paraplegic people walk. Like, stuff that sends electric signals to your spine

Aspergers and autism are the same thing
Aspergers was basically the old term for high functioning autism. They combined Aspergers into the spectrum and discontinued the diagnosis of Aspergers as a distinct illness.
It's not 100% like that, there were some specifics to Aspergers that are differend from some high functioning autists, but its close enough.
Shit move tbh, people who made Aspergers into a part of their identity will related less to the more broad term of autism spectrum disorder.

True, didn't think of those. I dont know how great they work, how affordable and how user friendly they are, but if they don't have any big downsides I change my opinion, strongly expressed autism would be worse in my eyes than paraplegia in that case.

If you have light autism
Why I made the distinction between Asperger's and Autism. We aren't taken as seriously as those with crippling neurological deficits and limited motor skills. They'll use the fact that we can communicate coherently to dismiss our condition. Not too concerned; interesting that the term has been removed now. Autism it is.

what are your thoughts on the belief that autism is the future of mankind?

Well if you have major autism you're fucked ngl

Otherwise you're good

Is this in reference to K9's pinned thread? I haven't read it yet, so forgive me. Positing that autism is the future of mankind seems a little farfetched, what with all data/stats pointing to autists performing worse in just about every metric that matters for social and economic prosperity/development.

The top autists, those that work in STEM, have and will continue to excel in those fields regardless. They do not represent the majority and shouldn't be used in any argument to make it seem like having autism is a superpower. Nothing changes. Those afflicted with autism will continue to face extra hurdles and obstacles. That is my view.

you are very well spoken. How old are you?

I am 22 years of age. Always leant toward the Humanities subjects as opposed to STEM, sadly. Would have been great to be adept at STEM instead, seeing as that seems to be the avenue best suited for autists.

Wow, we are about the same age. I thought you’d be in your 30s or 40s. You sound very wise

Appreciated, haha. Very much lacking in many areas, but can't be too hard on myself.

It depends on the type of autism and if your looks can compensate and weight it out. Chris Chan level of autism would scare people away Because you will be seen as a complete imbecile. Aspergers with sub-7 looks would make it hard to have relationships, especially as a sub 6 your aspie mannerisms with looks will give an immediate “creepy” impression to women in public.

you would need to have looks to compensate for physical disability also because you will be a essentially the same as a manlet. But not as bad as an aspie if you can have conversations and manage to find a female with either a pity virtue signaling personality or a fetish for dating paralyzed men.

when it comes down to it if you say they have the same looks level the 7/10 aspie would fare better than the 7/10 disabled person at getting girls for one time sexual affairs, but probably wouldn't be able to hold down to a relationship for long Unless he settled for a woman far below his looksmatch who was desperate enough to ignore his autistic behaviors and conversation ability.

Next post "what's worse? Social anxiety or being a quadruple amputee without a dick?"

Here would you get these drugs in UK? Things are more restricted here.

being paraplegic is a million time worse than being autistic.
you literally cannot walk or move to anywhere also if you're really autistic then you won't probably be even able to open the pc and write normal essais and paragraphes like this one.

Ofc a paraplegic what kinda question is that?
I hurt my back at one point and I could barely stand. For sure the autist has a better life unless if it is low functioning then potentially no.

Depends how autistic. Some are so retarded they can't even talk. If it's that kind then I'd rather be a cripple.
