I have heard this word and concept and I am wondering what it means.

Postmodernism is a term that describes a range of artistic, cultural, and philosophical movements that emerged as a reaction to modernism. It's characterized by a general skepticism of objective reality and universal truths, and a focus on the relative truths of each individual. Postmodernism is also known for its complexity and contradiction, in contrast to the clarity and simplicity of modernism.

Here are some key aspects of postmodernism:

  • Rejection of modernism
Postmodernism is a reaction to the ideas and values of modernism, which was dominant in cultural theory and practice in the early and mid-20th century.

  • Skepticism
Postmodernism is skeptical of the idea that scientific or objective methods can explain reality. It also questions the idea that there is such a thing as objective truth or scientific or historical truth.

    • Focus on interpretation
Postmodernism emphasizes that reality is constructed through our interpretations of what the world means to us.

    • Emphasis on concrete experience
Postmodernism relies on concrete experience over abstract principles, and acknowledges that the outcome of one's own experience will be fallible and relative.

    • Aesthetic
Postmodernism is characterized by complexity and contradiction, and often uses bright colors, unusual shapes, and combinations of materials.
Postmodernism can be applied to a variety of fields, including literature, art, philosophy, architecture, and cultural and literary criticism

TLDR: Western Christian morality is bad and we should question all of the Held beliefs of the past.

Thanks for the time periods they sound fascinating and cool.

just take some OG thing and rehash it to absurdity, bonus points if it involves nudity, sex, shit, black humor etc

example: tolkien's elves are kind and noble and wise, but OUR elves are edgy, evil and eat corpses (guess the reference)

homosexuality

I prefer Reactionary modernism

T-posts instead of cedar
