What inhibits the abuse of power?

Really, the answer is nothing. However, a hierarchy can limit the number of people abusing their power by placing others above them: women would not whore around or they'd be disowned by husbands, fathers, family, village etc; military men would still rape subordinates in the ass (I'm pretty sure that happened), but it wasn't the lower down ones; it was the few higher up guys and their buddies.

Nowadays, people don't have anyone to answer to, and therefore nothing to answer for. Imagine the injustices the elites (not (((The Elites))), just normal ones) were able to commit, what with not having to answer to many people and having huge amounts of power because they surmount a feudal system esque hierarchy, the cumulative power of everyone below them.

Now, replace those few with 3.6 billion people, and the complete lack of anyone to answer to because they have every man at their whim.

Uhhhh this post makes no sense tbh but I can't be bothered to go back and make it make sense so you're just going to have to use it as a guide for your own thoughts on the matter jfl
