Discussion What did you take for granted before joining this forum?

I took for granted not being autistic. I can notice subtle figures of speech like sarcasm and satire, which autists fail to. I do not hyperfocus on insignificant details or interpret something at face value like autists do.

I took for granted the presence of my family. My mother cooks for me, my father looks after me, my grandmother comes to visit us almost every week, my aunt is always giving me support, and so on. The amount of users that have no paternal presence or deeply hate their family is alarming to me.

I took for granted not being Indian. I know this might be offensive to some, but I have never seen a group that is so self-hating as the Indians. Even the sexual market value of Blacks is higher. Indians are the bottom of the barrel. Overall, I am grateful for being White.

Excellent post my brother and perhaps intentionally planned so as to coincide with thanksgiving and therefore complimentary to the theme of gratitude more generally. I took for granted that I am tall, musclemaxxed and highly educated relative to many of the less fortunate comrades on here. I'm only aware of one other authentic JDcel on these forums (PPEcel) who is likewise a trained attorney. Many of the brocels have limited educational opportunities and are cognitively inhibited by learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder or other psychopathologies. All of this notwithstanding, I still have absolutely no chance of ever ascending.
