Sorry, I know I've written at least one thread about community before. But I was just playing a video game set in America and I saw how all the houses had these big front porches and gardens and... here in the UK we don't really have the porches at the very least and sometimes the gardens are small too. I think it's a combination of a) the colder weather, b) less space because the country is smaller and c) a generally introverted population.

All these things I think combine to make our streets more lonely and isolating, on the whole. But then, maybe it's like this in most countries.

So I wanted to ask you guys whereabouts you live (you can be a bit more specific than just country if you want, as I know that there's more variety to it than just that) and whether you feel there is community there.

I think it's a tremendous thing for one's mental health and also other things like confidence.

Thanks all :)

I think only Asian countries have community.

Honestly to have community you can't be around a bunch of immigrants you got nothing in common with that just stink up your neighborhood.

That just makes people distrustful of each other.

Western society doesn't have real community because they sold out their culture to pander to illegals and rapefugees.

Western culture has been reduced to watch the ZOG puts out on tv and the radio.

I don't feel proud being a citizen of the USA or the city I live because I know that doesn't mean anything since they hand it out to any mongoloid (literally and figuratively) they ship over here by the millions.

Of course I may be hypocritical considering I want to live as a foreigner in another country but I actually respect the culture and want to be apart of the community instead of just some mercenary economic migrant.

I hope I'll be able to experience true community in Tokyo and be somewhat accepted (I know I could never be completely) and they will buy my hafu story because there is none to be found here.

Oh you're half Japanese?

I think it's debatable then whether you going over there is really the same as even a Western culture -loving black or Arabian man coming to a Western nation, for example. It depends on whether you think ethnicity or culture is more important. I tend to side with ethnicity, but culture does matter as well.

I'm mostly (or possibly entirely) white. I like Western culture and peoples but... I do wish they didn't often feel so isolating, at least in this country.

I'm pretty sure most Asian countries dont have a huge sense of community because of there work centric socities.

No but I look Japanese so I plan on pretending that I am so that people will accept me more instead of considering me a creepy gaijin. I want to present myself as someone wanting to explore his mother's Japanese culture they were never exposed to in America.

Yes western culture is really isolating, it's because we have a competitive and individualistic society where Asian societies are more collectivist.

We also don't retain the strong family bonds Asian do and family networks that branch out to form a proper community.

I'm pretty sure most Asian countries dont have a huge sense of community because of there work centric socities.

I think the Asian societies care more about each other from their collectivist nature. I think some of the governments truly care about their people and I can't say the same for my own government.

Like Japan does a lot of stuff to try to help hikikomories and old virgins and I don't see that happening in my own society.

They also have a strong culture with festivals etc..

We here just have some lousy superbowl.
