My current computer is not very good and out of date. I am thinking of getting a new computer and my budget $2000 (Australian). I have come up with some options and will put a poll in for some opinions but feel free to suggest anything.

Option 1 - Surface laptop with 256gb hard drive with 16gb RAM, not a very powerful computer but good enough for web browsing here and watching movies.

Option 2 - Surface Pro with 256gb hard drive and 16gb hard drive, very similar to the first option but can clip off keyboard and use as a tablet

Option 3 - Asus Gaming Desktop, the most powerful computer from all the choices. I have two monitors, keyboard and mouse for my work from home set up so I can just plug it in there. Obviously does not have the portability of a laptop.

Option 4 - Apple Mac mini with M2 pro chip, 10 core CPU and 512gb hard drive. Another desktop but it’s apple. I know apple is for faggots but I’ve got an iPhone, Apple Watch and iPad and I am thinking this will integrate well with those. Since it’s apple I probably won’t be able to game on it.

Option 5 - MacBook Air M2 with 8gb ram and 512gb hard drive. Mostly the same points as the Mac mini but the flexibility of a laptop and I will be a super normfag with this.

Feel free to give your own suggestions if all these suck.

Never get any overpriced Microsoft or apple devices unless u have a very specific use case in mind. Always get a desktop

If you sit at home whole day most of the time, get a PC. I prefer buying parts myself and building it than buying pre builts

Depends for what you wanna use it for

I don’t really know enough about computers to build my own

Essentially browsing here, watching movies and occasional gaming
i`d probably suggest a PC like a custom build since pre builds are usually shit and really overpriced you could ask users here on information about building a good pc i`m not too smart on pc building in particular

What'd'ya want to use it for? I see "gaming" is a want for you. How high fidelity are we talking, though? Like Red Dead 2 Max settings or something more reasonable.

Also, what's your budget?

Buy a prebuilt pc from HP.

They're usually the cheapest option for the most powerful tech.

Gaming one of course. I had many cheap laptops before my gaming one I got in 2019. The cheap ones were useless for games, it the new one handles very demanding car driving games no problem.

Well not really that big of a gamer tbh, it would be like once a week or once a month. I could do without it. My budget is $2000 Australian.

Also red dead 2 was pretty boring and I don’t really care about 200 fps and other stuff, it looks mostly the same

You can build pretty solid PC for that price

Macs suck at gaming, my laptop from 2014 outperforms my MacBook m1

You should get a custom built PC

Lol, buying prebuilt from ebay won't end well because delivery/postal service will break it.
No not like that. I mean buying from someone that is selling it nearby where you can pick it up yourself. Or at a garage sale

For what purpose
If for editing and shit mac
If gaming get a windows pc, custom build it

Buy a cheap laptop, then buy an xbox
