Recently people like trump supporters, conservative white men and women were angered by the fact that blacks and ethnics alike were kneeling during the anthem to protest police brutality against ethnics, and blacks knelt for slavery. Why should I feel more emotionally indebted to a certain government, or to a certain group of people, just because I was born within a certain area? It's morally arbitrary.

I have a very transactional mindset. The only "patriotism" that any government deserves are my tax dollars, which I gladly give in exchange for public goods and services.
