When you eat for from a farm, it is grown for slaughter. You are not taking food out of the wild and reducing the population. They are replacing what they kill. If they would replace these whales, I would have no problem with it.
Taking them "out of the wild" is part of the management of that species. 200 whales is not making a big difference in their population, which self-manages. I agree that we shouldn't hunt things to extinction, obviously, but while people are worried about these 200 whales, 1000000 ugly little fishes that nobody cares about because they aren't cute died from mercury or plastic or just got ground up by the propulsion of a giant shipping barge bringing slave-made trinkets from China to make a few more shekels for Bezos. Countries hunting whales that have always hunted whales shouldn't be people's focus. If there's no market for whale meat, as some people say, the hunt will end naturally anyways. I don't take any joy in the deaths of animals, I was a vegfag for a long time because I incorrectly thought that was reducing animal death and helping the environment, but death is necessary for life and so hunting done responsibly and respectfully is nothing to be ashamed about IMO.
I do care about the little fishes. All of them. I'm against plastic in the ocean.
