No, my mother simply was friends with the girl’s mother. Then there was another girl that was my biggest oneitis where her parents we’re friends with my aunt and uncle so I would always see her at family gatherings. Basically I had so much hope until I didn’t, and falling in love during a setting like that is especially fucking brutal because you have to watch the girl you’re in love with sit in the same room as your own flesh and blood and laugh with them. It made everything feel “meant to be”, but then I got rejected HARD. I was never the same

Brutal. The same happened to me basically. But at least there were some other social rejects in my middle school who i managed to become friends with. One of them is still my friend today (and my only one at that)

I luckily found one other total social reject to befriend back then too. He was my only friend all throughout middle school, but we stopped hanging out when we went to different high schools. He became too much of a shut in and wouldn’t even hang out with me anymore. I had zero friends all throughout high school and for a year plus afterwards. We recently became friends again because I finally convinced him to meet in person again.

Puberty destroyed me. I was an ok looking kid. You know, not awful but not above average either. Then, I looked bad from 10 to 15 with a narrow and recessed jaw plus skinny. Face improved near the end of puberty with a wider jaw and gained weight, so my looks improved some, but me mind is still way too damaged from it.
At least we have one decent friend IRL. If we were a bit less lucky, we’d have nothing. And coupled with the fact my dad died a while ago, I’d have basically no male friends/ relatives to interact with.
